About All 50 Shots

all 50 shots mounted on brick wallMy adult son started collecting shot glasses on his 21st birthday trip to Las Vegas. The trip was his birthday present from me that year. Not long after that him and a group of friends took a long road trip from Kansas City traveling to Washington State, then south to San Francisco, then east back to Kansas. This is where he came up with the rules to his collecting. He had to physically be in the state and have a drink at a local bar or restaurant for him to buy his state shot glass at local souvenir shop or truck stop. His ultimate goal was to have a drink and collect a shot glass in all 50 states. He knocked out about 1/2 of the western US during that one road trip. It was seeing his collection sitting in a shoebox that made me think of his next birthday present from me. A way for him to easily display his collection while clearly showing where he had been, and where he still wanted to go. The end result was the product you're now seeing on our website. That was 5 years ago, all of his friends would ask him where he bought it, and he would always proudly say, "you can't buy one, my Dad made it for me". Well, its 2024 and I'm now retired and with my son's encouragement, and the need to make a little "travel the world" money I am making it available to any other shot glass collectors out there.

That first display was made with a jigsaw and Dremel tool, with the holders being chain link fence parts I found at the local hardware store, the Aleutian Islands of Alaska broke off as my son was taking it home, and figuring out how to mount it needed some work as well. (we managed to glue the Aleutian Islands back on) I have spent a lot of hours perfecting the design, adding back bracing to keep Florida and the Aleutian Islands from snapping off, and also making it super simple to wall mount. To offer free shipping I created a two-part design that can be shipped in a smaller box but yet easily be assembled at home with a simple screwdriver and designed so that it looks like one single solid piece when put together. I custom designed the shot glass holders so that they could be 3D printed in a variety of sizes and did not cover any part of the front of the shot glass yet firmly held it in place. I am using a CNC machine now instead of a jigsaw and a Dremel tool, so the lines and cuts are smoother and more precise. The sanding, staining, and poly coating are still done by hand, because that's the only way to get a really good finish.

These are made to order, typically your order will be shipped out within a week. It is super simple to assemble, any flat surface will work and a screwdriver.

I really hope you enjoy it as much as my son does.
